Job Description:

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fire Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the safety of fire protection systems across various facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, schematics, and maintenance procedures, with an emphasis on leadership and equipment repair. The Fire Engineer will play a vital part in safeguarding personnel and property through proactive inspections, repairs, and system optimisations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in construction, air conditioning, ventilation or related fields to utilise their expertise within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Analyse schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot and repair fire equipment effectively.
Lead maintenance activities
Oversee installation projects related to fire safety infrastructure, collaborating with construction teams as necessary.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and system modifications for regulatory compliance.
Coordinate with other engineering teams to optimise fire safety measures across all facilities.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior staff or contractors involved in fire safety projects.
Assist in the development of emergency response plans and fire safety protocols.

Experience

Proven experience in mechanical knowledge related to fire safety systems or similar engineering fields.
Strong familiarity with schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation relevant to fire protection equipment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams or oversee projects effectively.
Practical experience in equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting within industrial or commercial settings.
Background in construction or building maintenance is advantageous.
Prior experience working on large-scale facilities or industrial sites is preferred but not essential. This role offers an engaging environment where technical expertise and leadership are highly valued. The Fire Engineer will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of safety while advancing their professional skills within a supportive organisation committed to excellence in fire protection engineering.
Fire Damper Testing Certificate and experience is essential.
