Relief Security Officer
GuardWatch Security UK Limited is a long-established SIA Approved Contractor providing professional security services across the UK.
We are currently recruiting for a Relief Security Officer to join our team covering sites in the Northallerton area.
This is a relief position, providing cover for holidays, sickness, and operational requirements across multiple sites. Flexibility is essential.
Shift Pattern
- 4 on / 4 off
- 06:00 – 18:00 (Day Shifts) 18:00 to 06:00 (Night shift)
- 12hour guaranteed contract
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of busy gatehouse environments while delivering excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access to and from site.
- Welcome visitors, employees, contractors and delivery drivers in a professional manner.
- Verify identification, record visitor and vehicle details, and direct individuals appropriately.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Prevent unauthorised access professionally and courteously.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents and site evacuations.
- Monitor CCTV systems effectively and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out searches where required, following company policies and client procedures.
- Control and maintain site keys and security equipment.
- Conduct regular security patrols to maintain a visible security presence and identify any hazards or security concerns.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and use site computer systems as required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor Licence.
- Full 5-year checkable employment and/or education history.
- Good IT and computer literacy.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
- Reliable, flexible and able to work independently.
- Own transport is desirable due to the nature of relief work.
