General Builder/Carpenter – Day Rate Contractor
Location – Travel across Essex
Requirements – Must have own vehicle and full driver’s licence
As a Carpenter at KNR you will be responsible for executing a variety of construction tasks, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of carpentry/construction skills and your expertise will be crucial in contributing to the success of our building projects.
Responsibilities
- Taking measurements and preparing the site for woodwork including roofs
- Preparing drawings for framing and other construction projects onsite
- Designing and installing fitted wooden shelves, cabinets and drywall
- Installing fixtures and fittings such as handles, locks and hinges
- Reading and interpreting designs to meet specifications set by Architects
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other tradesmen
- Following all standards for kitchens and bathrooms in remodelling projects
- Sourcing timber by size, strength and budget for woodworking or joinery projects
- Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery refurbishments
- Performing finish carpentry including siding, flooring and built-ins
- Perform carpentry and joinery work to create frameworks and fixtures
- First fix and second fix carpentry
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials and equipment around the site
- Follow detailed plans and specifications to ensure accurate construction work
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently within deadlines
Requirements
- Proven experience essential in Carpentry
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for various construction tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Knowledge of construction techniques and site safety procedures
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour tasks
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry/construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work well within a team environment and follow instructions accurately
Additional skills desirable but not essential
- Plastering
- Patch plastering or tiling as needed
- Multi-trade skills
You'll join a friendly team and be part of a growing company who specialise in large extensions and complete renovations. A can-do attitude with a positive outlook is a must. You must have a full driving licence, your own transport and the ability to travel across Essex and surrounding areas.
Please note - Day rate is dependent on experience.
Pay: £180.00-£220.00 per day
