Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this role provides executive leadership for service quality, patient safety, operational performance, and financial delivery. The COO will be accountable not only for operational grip and performance recovery, but also for the success of the transformation programme that will underpin Sirona's future.
Sirona is a large organisation, with a complex business model and a very diverse set of stakeholders, including regulators, commissioners and system partners. So it's vital that you understand how community health works, and are able to provide strong, credible and visible corporate leadership to both internal and external audiences. Through building close and constructive professional relationships with senior colleagues (such as the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing and Allied Health Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Chief Digital and Information Officer and Director of Governance) you'll ensure that delivery, transformation, quality, financial sustainability and organisational assurance are fully integrated and aligned.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of rapid and sustainable performance improvement, and will relish the opportunity to work as a key colleague of an ambitious and determined CEO. You must show that you understand the relationship between productivity, performance and waiting lists, and that you can maintain a clear and consistent focus on improvement. Experience of effective and active engagement with commissioners, as well as an understanding of the range of funding formulas and contracting mechanisms, will be essential. And you must bring a nuanced and practical understanding of how to adapt operating models to different community contexts.
We're looking for evidence of energy, tenacity, and the ability to engage the whole workforce in building a positive culture of collective self-improvement under a 'One Sirona' banner. If you can show that you understand how to translate organisational strategy into measurable outcomes across all key domains – operational, workforce, quality and financial – as well as deftly managing the twin imperatives of sustaining high performance and driving strategic transformation, this will be a career-changing role.
