BASF Metals in Cinderford operates a modern recycling facility focused on recovering precious metals from automotive catalytic converters, contributing to sustainable resource use and a circular economy.
We’re looking for a Facilities Lead to take full ownership of our site environment — ensuring everything from compliance to contractor management runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
This is a visible, high-impact role where you’ll be the go-to expert for all things facilities:
Owning site facilities, building fabric, and grounds
Managing service contracts (security, cleaning, fleet, and suppliers)
Leading compliance activities (legionella, PAT testing, energy reporting, insurance checks)
Acting as first-line IT support for local equipment and network issues
Controlling access systems and site security
Overseeing contractor permits and safe working practices
Delivering hands-on maintenance and coordinating specialist works
Managing budgets, purchasing, and spend tracking
Supporting site projects, change initiatives, and EHS systems
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone practical, proactive, and confident working independently:
Proven facilities management experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong hands-on maintenance skills and contractor coordination experience
Solid knowledge of facilities compliance and statutory requirements
18th Edition electrical qualification with fault-finding capability
Experience managing service contracts and budgets
Confidence issuing permits to work and managing safety processes
Strong IT skills — comfortable supporting devices, printers, and basic networks
Ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and make decisions independently
Bonus points if you have:
SAP experience
Exposure to ISO/EHS frameworks
Experience working with outsourced IT providers or automation/security systems
