The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Chef to join our talented kitchen team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled chef who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality food across a variety of services, from weddings and special events to à la carte dining and traditional Sunday roasts.
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional food standards, supporting junior team members, and helping shape the future of the hotel's food offering.
Working Pattern
- Typically Wednesday to Sunday
- One to two evening shifts per week
- Full-time, permanent position
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team of chefs delivering a diverse food offering, including:
- Seasonal small plates menus
- Friday and Saturday evening à la carte service
- Weddings, private functions, and events
- Traditional Sunday roast service
- Assist in menu development and seasonal dish creation.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP standards.
- Support and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Ensure efficient stock control, rotation, and minimisation of waste.
- Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Help deliver a seamless dining experience for guests across all hotel food operations.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Senior Chef, Sous Chef, or experienced Chef de Partie.
- Strong knowledge of fresh food preparation and service.
- Experience catering for both restaurant service and large-scale events/functions.
- A passion for seasonal produce and quality ingredients.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and strong team ethic.
