Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations through food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with meal service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, a keen eye for food safety, and previous experience in catering or restaurant environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within a dynamic food service setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established standards
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
Serve food to customers or staff in a professional manner when required
Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe working environment

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting

Kitchen Assistant hours are 8:00 till 15:00 for 3 days a week
