Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Baby Room Leader to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead and inspire a team of childcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and development for our youngest children. Your enthusiasm and leadership will create a nurturing environment where babies feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore and grow. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families while working in a dynamic, supportive setting.

- The hours of work will be 40 hours per week, between 7.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday on a shift rota basis, or the option for a 4 day working week with one day off.

- Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year including Public Holidays. Plus an additional day for your birthday!

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations within the baby room, overseeing staff, children, and activities to ensure a smooth, engaging, and safe environment
Supervise and support team members, fostering a positive team culture through effective management and leadership
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote developmental milestones in communication, motor skills, social interaction, and emotional well-being
Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns with professionalism and empathy
Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies at all times
Conduct regular risk assessments of the nursery environment to uphold safety protocols
Support staff training and development to enhance childcare skills and knowledge in early childhood education

Requirements

Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive experience working with children, particularly in early childhood or infant care environments
Strong understanding of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and nursery routines
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential
A genuine passion for nurturing young children’s growth and development combined with a proactive approach to leadership
