Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and assembling Material Handling Equipment with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, mechanical processes, and the use of various hand and power tools. The Fabricator/Fitter will contribute to the production of high-quality products in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on various metals, including sheet metal, to create durable components.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
Measure materials accurately using basic maths skills to ensure precise fabrication.
Fit and assemble fabricated parts according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to identify defects or inconsistencies.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and optimise workflow efficiency.

Experience

Proven experience in fabrication or fitting roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proficiency in welding thick and thin material.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
Experience working with various metals and understanding of welding safety practices is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
