Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the creation of high-quality dishes while gaining valuable industry experience. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to progress their career in the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
Support the team in food production during busy service periods
Manage ingredients stock levels and notify management of shortages or expiry dates
Contribute to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment at all times
Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver seamless service
Assist with supervising junior staff or trainees as required, demonstrating leadership qualities

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Experience in food production, restaurant service, or catering roles will be highly regarded
Supervising experience or leadership roles within a culinary setting are considered a plus
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food preparation, and cooking techniques is preferred
A genuine interest in culinary arts and hospitality, with a proactive approach to learning and development

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
