Job Overview

Working hours:

Monday to Friday
04:00 – 08:00

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative specialising in Parcel Sorting for the morning shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently sorting parcels within a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring accurate processing and timely dispatch. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics team, contributing to smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude are advantageous, and a proactive attitude is essential for success.

Responsibilities

Sort incoming and outgoing parcels accurately according to designated routes and destinations
Load and unload parcels from vans, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
Utilise warehouse management systems to track parcel movement and update records accordingly
Assist with materials handling, including lifting, carrying, and stacking parcels of varying weights
Maintain organisation within the warehouse, ensuring clear pathways and tidy work areas
Conduct routine checks on mechanical equipment and report any faults or issues
Support shipping & receiving processes to meet daily dispatch targets
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge or experience with materials handling equipment is beneficial
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Experience in construction or related manual roles can be beneficial but not essential
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
