Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the preparation and service of food for our members and guests on a day-to-day basis, and at various events hosted by the Club, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction and food safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and customer service to develop their skills within a friendly environment. The Catering Assistant will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving guests, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of food items in accordance with established recipes and safety standards
Serve meals and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and serving areas throughout shifts
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with setting up event spaces, including table arrangements and decorations
Handle guest enquiries politely, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
Support meal presentation to enhance guest experience
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service operations
Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless catering & customer services

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
Experience in a kitchen setting is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on guest services and phone etiquette
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Basic cooking skills are beneficial
Organised, reliable, and able to work flexibly across various shifts including evenings and weekends if required
A positive attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service
