We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced Playgroup Leader & Manager to lead our wonderful team at Derrytrasna Playgroup, Breakfast & Afterschool club.

About the Role
As Playgroup Leader & Manager, you will:
- Lead and inspire our dedicated Playgroup and Breakfast & Afterschool team on a daily basis.
- Create a safe, happy and stimulating environment where every child feels valued.
- Plan and oversee engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Support children's learning, development and wellbeing through observation and assessment.
- Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety and child welfare.
- Help maintain a positive, supportive workplace where everyone feels respected and encouraged to grow.
- Manage the day-to-day running of the preschool, including staffing, resources, administration and budgets.
- Work closely with our Chair and Committee to help shape the future of the Playgroup and the Breakfast & Afterschool Club.
No two days are the same, and we're looking for someone who enjoys leading by example, getting involved, and making a real difference to children's early experiences.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a Level 5 Diploma in Childcare (or working towards), or equivalent plus two years experience
- Has experience working in an early years setting.
- Has leadership or management experience, or is ready to step confidently into a leadership role.
- Has a strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage the day-to-day running of a busy playgroup and afterschool.
- Communicates well with children, families and colleagues.
- Leads with kindness, positivity and professionalism.
- Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and supporting others to develop.
- Shares our commitment to inclusion, equality and providing the very best care for every child.
Essential Requirements
- · Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care Learning and Development –Management Pathway (or working towards and can show proof via course enrolment or email from college)
· Level 5 Diploma in Playwork
· Professional Qualification in any of the following; Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery , Health Visiting, Teaching and at least two years’ paid experience in employment working with children of the age group relevant to the setting they will be working in.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Full driving licence
