Overview

Join our team as a School Transport Assistant and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable, and caring transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will support the safe journey of children to and from school, fostering a positive and secure environment onboard. Your dedication will help create a smooth daily routine for students, providing peace of mind for families and school staff alike. Responsibilities

Assist students boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed at all times
Support students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance during transit
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle environment, including light cleaning and routine checks
Monitor student behavior during trips, applying behavior management techniques to promote a respectful atmosphere
Ensure adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations while driving or assisting with transportation routes
Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and colleagues regarding student needs or incidents
Assist with loading and unloading of mobility aids or equipment as needed, including heavy lifting when necessary

Experience

Previous experience working with children or in caregiving roles such as childcare, assisted living, or home care is highly valued
Familiarity with patient care practices or senior care environments enhances your ability to support students with diverse needs
Experience in transportation roles or driving responsibilities is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided
Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures ensures safety during transit
Ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting and meal preparation supports comprehensive student care
Demonstrated skills in behavior management and medication administration are advantageous for supporting students with special requirements
