Job title: Production Planner
At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Production Planner, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‑saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.
As a Production Planner, you will help drive our goals by:
- Analysing production and demand data to create and maintain effective production schedules
- Managing the Master Production Schedule in collaboration with Operations, Engineering and Projects
- Monitoring material flow through the supply chain to ensure customer requirements are met
- Identifying risks, constraints and opportunities, escalating issues and supporting resolution
- Managing inventory levels, including identifying slow-moving stock and driving improvements
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the S&OP process and improve planning accuracy
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organisational and planning skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to build strong working relationships across functions
- Problem-solving mindset with a structured approach
- Interest in supply chain systems and willingness to learn new tools and processes
