Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Based out of Bruntingthorpe
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to support our operational teams in maintaining high standards of health, safety, and compliance across our sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone holding a NEBOSH General Certificate who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with managers and employees to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with current legislation, and assist in the development and implementation of health and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety tours.
Assist with the completion and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Support managers in complying with health and safety legislation and company policies.
Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to employees.
Monitor corrective actions arising from audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Maintain health and safety records, reports, and documentation.
Assist with COSHH assessments and management of hazardous substances.
Support contractor management and permit-to-work systems where required.
Promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

About You

Essential:

NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
Ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Desirable:

Experience in an automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or bodyshop environment.
Membership of IOSH.
Experience conducting audits and incident investigations.
Knowledge of COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, and workplace transport safety.
