This role is based within CU Academic Services Ltd, a sister company of Coventry University and part of the Coventry University Group.

The Role

Working hours – part-time 7.5 hours - Sunday 08:00 - 16:30

The University Library is seeking to appoint a library assistant to join our customer services weekend team. You will contribute to the effective operation of the Library by providing services to the Library customers and supporting their study at the University. You will provide a welcoming Welcome Desk service as well as shelving library materials, operating the online issue system and general clerical tasks.

Our Successful Candidate

You should have a good general education and the ability to work as part of a team is really important. Good communication and interpersonal skills, confidence with IT and the ability to work under pressure are also essential for this post. You should also have experience of customer service or dealing with the general public. Experience of working in a library would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.

In addition to the weekly hours of this post, you are also required to work 4 additional days per annum (totalling 30 hours, averaged to 0.58 hours per week). These additional days will be four of the following: three days between Christmas and New Year, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Spring bank holiday (May), Whitsun bank holiday (May) and August bank holiday. These days will vary depending on rotas.
