Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within a vibrant hospitality environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output
Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and excellence in all culinary offerings
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor stock levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage storage procedures
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment throughout shifts
Contribute to menu planning and development alongside the Head Chef

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings preferred
Knowledge of food production techniques and restaurant operations
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of food and hygeine safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
A passion for delivering outstanding customer service through exceptional cuisine

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
