What is the job role?

The Health Access for Refugees Programme (HARP) supports refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrant communities in Coventry in accessing healthcare and improving their wellbeing. Through trusted community relationships, partnership working and neighbourhood health initiatives, HARP reduces health inequalities, improves health literacy and helps reduce pressure on NHS services.

As a HARP Project Support Officer, you will support the delivery of the Health Access for Refugees Programme, working alongside the Project Manager, Community Connectors, NHS partners, voluntary organisations and community groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the HARP Project Manager in delivering programme priorities and objectives.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with community groups, health professionals, and partner organisations.
Providing administrative support including meeting coordination, record keeping, monitoring information, reporting, and project documentation.
Supporting Community Connectors in delivering outreach activities and local projects.
Attending community events, outreach sessions, and partnership meetings to gain insight into emerging needs and opportunities.
Assisting in the preparation of presentations, reports, briefings, and operational documents.
Supporting networks that enable partners to share information, learning, and best practice.
Collaborating with Council services, NHS partners, voluntary sector organisations, and community groups to strengthen community resilience and improve health outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and newly arrived communities across Coventry.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is fixed-term for 2 years.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You will be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, including community members, voluntary organisations, healthcare professionals and senior managers. Most importantly, you will be passionate about supporting refugees, asylum seekers and newly arrived communities to overcome barriers and improve access to healthcare.
