About the Role

AB Taxis Ltd is expanding for the 2026/27 academic year and we are looking for reliable, professional private hire drivers to join our team for Home-to-School and SEN transport contracts.

This is a rewarding role ideal for drivers who want regular, stable, term‑time work with fixed routes and guaranteed hours. This role involves safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring punctuality and a high standard of customer service. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s/private hire licence and have experience in commercial driving or delivery services.

Responsibilities

Safely operate vehicles to transport students to and from school locations in accordance with scheduled timings
Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
Assist with loading and unloading students, including heavy lifting when necessary
Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to coordinate pick-up and drop-off arrangements
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times

Skills

Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to interact professionally with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and recognise potential issues
Capable of heavy lifting when required, such as loading equipment or assisting students with mobility needs
Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently
Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing a safe transport service for young passengers

Requirements

To register your interest, you must have:

Wolverhampton/Coventry/Solihull Private Hire Driver Licence
Wolverhampton/Coventry/Solihull‑plated vehicle (4–8 seats)
Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Good communication and reliability
Ability to work term‑time (Monday–Friday)
Professional attitude and commitment to safeguarding
