Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team Here at Polpeor cafe. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
Cook and assemble meals according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently serving meals to customers or clients
Restock supplies as needed and monitor stock levels for ingredients and kitchen essentials
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to promote a safe working environment
Assist with washing up, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable
Experience working in a restaurant/cafe or catering environment is advantageous
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary

Pay: £14.00 per hour
