We're looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our Environmental Enforcement and Amenities Team, helping to ensure the New Forest's car parks and public spaces remain safe, accessible and well-managed.
Every day is different. One day you could be carrying out patrols in our beautiful coastal and forest locations, the next assisting with investigations into environmental offences or providing advice and support to residents and visitors.
This is a highly visible frontline role where you'll have the opportunity to positively impact our communities while working across one of the most stunning districts in the country.
About You
You'll be a confident communicator who enjoys working independently and taking responsibility for your own workload.
You will:

Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Be confident engaging with members of the public and dealing professionally with challenging situations.
- Have excellent observation and record-keeping skills.
- Be able to make sound decisions while following legislation and procedures.
- Be comfortable using handheld devices and digital systems.
- Have a full UK driving licence and be able to drive a council vehicle.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
Previous experience in enforcement, customer service, security, community safety or a similar public-facing role would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
A positive, professional and can-do attitude is essential.

About The Role And The Team
You'll be joining a dedicated Enforcement Team that provides an important frontline service to residents and visitors across the New Forest.
In this role you'll help make a difference by:

Carrying out enforcement patrols in council-operated car parks across the district.
- Providing advice and guidance to residents and visitors on parking regulations.
- Issuing Penalty Charge Notices where appropriate and in accordance with legislation.
- Supporting investigations into abandoned vehicles and environmental offences.
- Helping ensure council car parks and public spaces remain safe, accessible and well managed.
- Working closely with colleagues, partner agencies and members of the public to address parking and environmental enforcement matters.
This role offers a balance of independent working and team support, with opportunities to develop your enforcement knowledge and skills.
