Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems across a variety of commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, plumbing, and the use of various hand and power tools. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, physical stamina for heavy lifting, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities

Install, service, and repair heating systems including boilers, radiators, and related components.
Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and safety standards.
Troubleshoot issues with heating equipment using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out installation and repair tasks efficiently.
Perform welding and carpentry work as required during installation or repair processes.
Assist with plumbing tasks related to heating systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Carry out heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of tools, parts, or equipment to various sites.
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each job.
Adhere to health & safety policies at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Skills

Proven experience in heating system installation and maintenance.
Proficiency with welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly tasks.
Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of HVAC systems.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely over extended periods.
Experience with commercial driving is desirable but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
