Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Rolling Mill Operative to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining rolling mill equipment, ensuring the production of high-quality metal products. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the metal fabrication industry, with a focus on safety, precision, and efficiency. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a keen interest in mechanical processes and metalworking. must be flexible with shift patterns will be looking at changing shifts and introducing a night shift.

Responsibilities

Operate rolling mill machinery to produce metal sections and strips according to specified dimensions and quality standards
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance
Perform fabrication tasks
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
Assist in setting up machines for different production runs and changeovers
Monitor production processes to identify and resolve issues promptly
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Experience

Previous experience in metal fabrication, or similar manufacturing roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of sheet metal handling, assembly techniques, and mechanical systems is advantageous
Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and basic measurement instruments is preferred
Basic understanding of maths related to measurements and calculations in a manufacturing setting is beneficial
Prior experience working with fabrication equipment or in a production environment will be considered an asset
