Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full Time Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position requires high standards of craftsmanship and safety. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering quality workmanship across all phases of construction, from initial fabrication to final installation.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structural frameworks, fixtures, and fittings using hand tools and power tools.
- Execute joinery tasks with precision, including cutting, shaping, and fitting timber components.
- Perform roofing tasks such as sheathing, shingling, and waterproofing to ensure durable constructions.
- Carry out construction painting to prepare surfaces for finishing or protection.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to execute projects accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong understanding of fabrication, assembly, joinery, roofing, plumbing, masonry, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers alongside power tools including drills and sanders.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when necessary.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of carpentry work.
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or related trades are preferred but not essential if accompanied by substantial practical experience.
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour on construction sites.
