Job Description:

Blue Diamond, a division of Charles Austen Pumps Limited, is a leading global organisation in the design, manufacture and development of condensate rotary diaphragm pumps to a diverse range of trades, including the HVAC and refrigeration markets. With a multimillion-pound turnover and high quality, reliable and ever-expanding product range, Blue Diamond continues to lead the way in pump innovation and technology.

Our satellite office, C.A. Pumps B.V., is strategically placed in Rotterdam to support and serve our European customers’ business needs, ensuring a quicker more efficient and cost-effective solution for purchasing of our products and accessing technical support.

Position:

We are looking for a highly motivated and confident salesperson to become the Division’s French/German Technical Sales Support. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with distributors and merchants, managing and maximising business from existing accounts, and investigating new possibilities throughout France/Germany. You will be based in our UK office but will travel extensively to Europe.

This role requires you to manage your own day, book and attend your own appointments, to ensure continual market awareness, promote products at “Trade Counter Days” and attend exhibitions. You will also be one of the ‘go to’ technical team for any queries.

There is significant opportunity to develop a long-term career within this global, financially secure, and robust organisation.

As with any sales role, the typical 9-to-5 working day does not apply. Extensive travel will require the candidate to often leave home early and return late on a regular basis and spend time away from home when visiting customers located across France/Germany.

· Travel to train sales staff at each distribution outlet. Each outlet will need updated or new point of sale material left on display.

· Ensure stock levels are maintained at all outlets.

· Meet with head office personnel, catalogue managers & marketing managers to gain best catalogue coverage and promotional opportunities.

· Research, contact, demonstrate and visit architects, air conditioning installation companies and building specifiers to educate them about our products and ensure we are included in the building tenders they specify.

· Organise and conduct trade counter days at distribution outlets, the branch will invite customers to the outlet for you to exhibit the products too.

· Assist with trade shows in Europe and possibly elsewhere (UK/USA).

· Report on all visits and follow up sales calls with the required information.

Person:

The role would suit an ambitious, highly motivated and confident individual looking to forge a career with a market-leading global organisation.

You will have a proven track record in sales/account management, a customer-focused attitude and affable personality.

You will be reporting to UK Sales Manager providing regular sales reports, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You should be able to demonstrate longevity with past employers and have the drive and enthusiasm to succeed.

Knowledge of the HVAC industry would be a distinct advantage.

Language skills:

French and/or German at professional level is required.

Due to the requirements of this role, applicants that do not have French and/or German as a language skill at business level cannot be considered.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
