OCU Group is continuing to grow across the UK water industry, and we are now looking for ambitious and hands-on Electrical Improvers to join our expanding Water sector team based in North Wales.
This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects across the UK, supporting experienced electricians and supervisors in the delivery of critical electrical installations within live operational environments. Flexibility and willingness to travel will be essential as part of this role.
Whether you already have experience within industrial or water environments or are looking to further develop your career within the wastewater sector, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and forward-thinking business.
As an Electrical Improver, you will support the installation, maintenance, and refurbishment of electrical systems across wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced site teams assisting with electrical containment systems, cabling, control panels, and associated electrical equipment.
The role will involve installing and maintaining cable containment systems including tray and ladder rack, supporting cable installation and termination works, assisting with panel wiring, and carrying out fault finding activities under supervision.
You will be expected to work safely at all times, following company procedures and site-specific safety requirements while promoting a strong health and safety culture across all activities. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics will also form an important part of the role.
Working closely with electricians, supervisors, engineers, and project teams, you will gain valuable experience across a range of wastewater infrastructure projects while continuing to develop your technical knowledge and practical skills.
We are looking for reliable and motivated individuals with previous experience in an Electrical Improver role or relevant industrial electrical experience, ideally within the water or wastewater sector. Experience working on wastewater treatment projects would be highly beneficial.
You should have a good understanding of safe systems of work within industrial or operational environments and be confident using electrical tools, interpreting drawings, and working both independently and as part of a wider team.
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
Additional certifications such as EUSR, Confined Space, IPAF, or PASMA would be advantageous.
