Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Furniture Projects Team. We provide access to affordable furniture for households in need. We are committed to excellent customer service and making a positive impact in our community.

As a Furniture Projects Assistant, you will play a crucial role in co-ordinating, delivering and monitoring our furniture offer, including furnished tenancies and recycling services. You will work closely with colleagues, external agencies and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of furniture, maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional customer service.

As a Furniture Projects assistant, you will support the Furniture Projects Officer with planning and organising the day to day running of the project in Stockport for households in furniture poverty.

This role is physically demanding and involves carrying heavy household goods in and out of properties including upstairs either by hand or with the lifting equipment provided.

You will work with other colleagues in the Furniture Projects team by making collections and deliveries of furniture donations. Duties include logging, cleaning, testing and storing items before delivering them to households in need who are often considered vulnerable. The role will also include repairing furniture when needed.

We’re looking for someone with commitment, passion and enthusiasm for excellent customer service, with strong communication and organisational skills.

A full UK driving licence is required for the role as you will be driving the services vans to deliver and collect a range of household items.
