Reporting to: Head of Merchandising
As a Merchandiser for Ryman, you will be responsible for driving key commercial opportunities to maximise sales and profit. You will achieve this through the efficient management of stock, continuous process improvement, and rigorous critical path management.
This is a highly commercial role for an analytical, driven individual looking to influence trade decisions and manage multi-category performance within a major high street brand.
Working in close partnership with Buying and Logistics, you will manage end-to-end product stock flow and use data to shape commercial strategy.
Plan sales rates for promotional activity, core range reviews, and new initiatives. Produce and present commercial roll-ups for senior leadership and board-level sign-off.
Manage the WSSI for multiple categories to support cash flow forecasting while maintaining excellent shelf availability. Execute intake plans in line with stock budgets and manage product exits via profitability modeling.
Support buyers with robust performance analysis. Leverage customer preferences, market trends, and Ryman Rewards loyalty data to identify commercial opportunities.
Own the critical path for your categories. Coordinate with logistics and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure new initiatives and promotions launch on time and in full.
Build strong supplier relationships to negotiate favorable terms. Mentor, support, and develop junior members of the merchandising team to maintain high performance.
A proven track record of high performance in a retail merchandising role. Experience in stationery, branded FMCG, or general merchandise is preferred.
Strongly commercial, highly numerate, and data-driven with advanced Excel and data-handling skills. Knowledge of merchandising software is an advantage.
A high degree of tenacity and drive, with the ability to thrive and solve problems in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
Excellent cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, customer-obsessed approach.
