Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced midwife to join the maternity team as a Senior Midwifery Manager for Outpatient Services. The post holder will have professional, operational, and managerial responsibility for outpatient midwifery services, providing strategic leadership across all outpatient sites within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The post holder will have a visible clinical presence, with professional and managerial responsibility for all outpatient services across the service, including community midwifery teams, antenatal clinics, and the home birth service.
The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership to support and develop registered and unregistered staff and to ensure the delivery of high quality safe and effective care.
Their role is to ensure the needs of women, birthing people and their families are placed at the centre of care delivery and care meets local and national quality, safety and regulatory standards.
They will need to have clinical, management and professional leadership experience. They will also have a role in education, training and development as well as a research and evidence base to develop and improve practice, service and women's experience.

The post holder will be expected to provide strong professional leadership across outpatient services, supporting and developing both registered and unregistered staff to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care. They will ensure that the needs of women, birthing people, and their families are central to care delivery, with services meeting all local and national quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role requires demonstrable clinical, managerial, and professional leadership experience within outpatient settings. In addition, the post holder will contribute to education, training, and workforce development, alongside promoting a research- and evidence-based approach to continuously improve practice, service delivery, and the overall experience of women and families.
