20 hours per week, salary £28,000+ full-time equivalent, pro-rated to match hours

You'll be working directly with our developer clients, designing full builds, and helping bring commercially-minded, compliance-aware interior design to every project.

This role requires someone who can think practically, work independently, and bring a scheme together from start to finish.

What you'll be doing

As Interior Designer at Aben Interiors and Projects Ltd, you will:

Design full interior schemes for developer projects, working across entire builds from start to finish
Work directly with partnering architects to achieve great layouts.
Select and specify materials, furniture, and finishes in line with each project's brief and budget
Work independently across a variety of projects at different stages simultaneously
Liaise with clients to understand project goals and translate them into workable schemes
Consider compliance and practical build requirements alongside aesthetics in both residential and commercial projects
Prepare mood boards, specifications, and design documentation for client and contractor use
Visit site to check in on progress, measure up and install where needed
Track project timelines and flag any design-related delays or issues

You will play a key role in shaping the quality and consistency of our clients' finished projects.

Requirements

Previous experience in interior design, ideally with whole-build or commercial/developer projects rather than solely room-by-room domestic design
Strong independent working style, comfortable making decisions with minimal oversight
Must be able to drive to sites across England
Strong understanding of compliance and regulations
Excellent eye for detail and finish
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
Confident using standard design and specification tools
Self-motivated and able to work independently (remote role)

Experience within property development or HMO/serviced accommodation/Hotel design is helpful but not essential.
