Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role involves working on both residential and commercial projects, contributing to the aesthetic and protective qualities of buildings. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills and a good understanding of construction painting techniques.

Duties

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
Mixing paints and colours to achieve desired shades as specified by clients or project managers
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations
Protecting surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during work
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
Collaborating with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project specifications are met
Managing time effectively to complete projects within designated deadlines

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
Strong communication skills in English for effective client interactions and team collaboration
Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to painting and decorating tasks

Pay: £18.00-£22.50 per hour
