Full job description

Beacon Surgery, located in the East Sussex countryside, is seeking to recruit 2 x Medical Receptionists/Administrators to join our team.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, approachable and able to work effectively in a busy primary care environment, contributing to the delivery of high quality patient services.

The post holders will act as the first point of contact for patients, managing telephone calls and enquiries, booking appointments and liaising with clinicians and other members of the practice team. The role also includes a range of administrative duties such as processing prescriptions and maintaining electronic records and filing systems.

As the first point of contact for patients, excellent communication skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate a caring and professional approach, be well organised, able to work under pressure and be flexible to support service delivery, including providing cover for staff annual leave when required.

Previous experience within Primary Care and knowledge of the Emis clinical system would be advantageous, however, these are not essential as full training will be given.

Providing an excellent patient experience is central to the role. We are therefore seeking individuals who are committed to high standards of customer care and willing to contribute positively to the practice team. While the role is demanding, it is also rewarding.

Appointment to the posts is subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and receipt of satisfactory references.

Contract Details

Position 1 - Hours per week 20 as follows:-

Monday 7:30am to 1pm

Tuesday 8am to 1pm

Friday 8am to 12 and

Friday 1pm to 6:30

Position 2 - Hours per week 15.5 hours per week as follows:-

Wednesday 8am to 1pm

Thursday 8am to 1pm

Friday 7:30am to 1pm

Overtime will also be available to cover staff holiday leave

Job Type Part Time - Permanent

Salary - £12.71 per hour
