Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mainly Land Rover vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults and necessary repairs
Perform mechanical repairs including engine work, brake servicing, suspension adjustments, and transmission repairs
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate diagnostics and repairs
Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
Repair or replace faulty parts using welding techniques when necessary
Assist with assembly of vehicle components during manufacturing or refurbishment processes
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and advising on maintenance needs
Lift heavy components safely during repair procedures and maintain organised workspaces

Qualifications

Proven experience in vehicle repair or maintenance roles with strong mechanical knowledge - Land Rover experience preferred but not essential
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures
Ability to diagnose issues accurately using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Physically capable of heavy lifting and working in various positions for extended periods
Prior experience with equipment repair, welding, or similar trades is desirable
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance or Automotive Engineering are advantageous

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
