Job title: Maintenance Engineer

Hours: 39 Hours – Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,550.29 per annum, plus out of hours on call bonus payments

Main purpose of the role: as a member of the Property & Estate Services team provide a measured, professional service. Covering maintenance of a responsive, preventative, and progressive nature.
Meet the business needs and carry out to the highest standards:

Programmed preventative maintenance across the business.

A programme of scheduled checks and testing to assist in meeting the businesses statutory requirements.

Reactive and proactive maintenance.

Fire alarm response
-
Be the first point of contact for all stake holders, regarding deficiencies and maintenance tasks across the Langdale Estate.

Out of Hours support rota based (Additional payment & Lieu Time)
Main duties:
- To assist with the maintenance and repair of estate properties including, but not exclusively plumbing & Heating, electrical, Joinery, general building, and painting & decoration.

Cover on-call emergency response as per the On Call rota.

Respond to job cards and radio calls in a timely manner.

Work at height and/or in confined spaces, as required, with the appropriate training.
-
To read and interpret repair and operator instructions.
-
Be proficient in the use of a variety of tools and equipment.
-
Measure and calculate as necessary, understand technical instructions.
-
Maintain records.
-
Carry out and log routine inspections including ventilation, heating, lighting. Log and report faults.
-
Ensure maintenance and safe use of vehicles, tools, and equipment and log as required.

Promote and work within the guidelines of Langdale’s Environment Policy.

Be responsible for and proactive with fire safety and provide rapid response to fire alarm calls on site when on duty.

Support the team in conducting weekly safety fire alarm tests.

Directly interact with all stake holders that require the departments services, maintaining the highest levels of customer service.

Attend relevant training / refresher training as necessary to maintain role competency and compliance and engage with other learning and development opportunities as required.

Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining compliance of site assets.

Assist the Maintenance Manager by undertaking any other reasonable work tasks, as required.

Understanding of general maintenance tasks, safety regulations and compliance policies.

Hold a full UK driving licence.

Working conditions
This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD. Due to the on-call nature of this position, candidates must live within a 60 minute commute.
Relocation support may be available for exceptional candidates.
All candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK at the start of employment.
