Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Previous kitchen experience and a strong interest in culinary arts are essential for this position.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all menu items
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
Help with food plating and presentation to meet the restaurant’s aesthetic standard
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
Contribute to stock control by assisting with inventory checks and storage organisation
Support team management by working collaboratively with colleagues to meet service demands

Requirements

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Demonstrable skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are desirable but not essential; willingness to develop these skills is important
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent team management abilities and a collaborative attitude
Good understanding of food production processes and culinary techniques
Passion for food with a desire to learn and grow within the industry

Pay: £12.21-£12.71 per hour
