Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, flexible and detail-oriented part time Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our small friendly legal team on a job sharing basis. 14.5 to 21.75 hours per week to be worked as full days, 9am - 5.15pm, plus holiday cover. Some legal experience, preferably in private client and residential conveyancing, is preferred but not essential. The candidate will provide essential administrative support and a proactive approach to administrative tasks within a legal environment. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a strong ability to communicate effectively, and proficiency in various software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Duties

Provide comprehensive administrative support.
Prepare and manage legal documents, including correspondence and reports.
Conduct audio typing and transcriptions accurately and efficiently.
Maintain organised filing systems for both physical and electronic documents.
Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings.
Assist with client communications, ensuring timely responses to enquiries.
Utilise software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for document creation and management.
Perform general office duties including data entry and maintaining office supplies.
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and confidentiality standards.

Skills

Strong IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
Exceptional organisational skills to maintain an orderly workspace.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
Attention to detail in all aspects of work.
