Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Tandoor Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management, with experience in supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase expertise in traditional Indian cuisine, specialising in tandoor cooking, within a vibrant hospitality environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing authentic dishes, managing kitchen operations, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of tandoor-based dishes with authentic flavours and presentation standards
Oversee the daily operations of the tandoor station, ensuring efficiency and quality control
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and portion sizes
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations
Monitor stock levels, place orders for ingredients, and manage inventory effectively
Uphold food safety standards at all times, including proper handling and storage of ingredients

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, particularly with tandoor ovens or Indian cuisine
Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Demonstrated ability in food production and restaurant service operations
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality setting
Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
