Full job description

A brand-new 3-bed children's residential home supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

We are recruiting on behalf of an ambitious children's residential care provider seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead the registration and opening of a new three-bed EBD home in Dagenham.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a service from the ground up, recruit and develop your own team, establish a positive therapeutic culture, and create a home where children can achieve outstanding outcomes.

The successful candidate will lead the Ofsted registration process and have full operational responsibility for the service once registered.

As the organisation continues to expand, there will be genuine opportunities to progress into dual registration and Operational Management for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Ofsted registration process for the new home.
Develop and maintain a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment.
Recruit, induct, supervise and develop the staff team.
Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
Promote outstanding safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children.
Oversee care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
Monitor budgets, staffing levels and overall operational performance.
Develop positive relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies.
Prepare the home for Ofsted inspection and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home.
Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Proven leadership, people management and organisational skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

Experience opening or commissioning new children's homes.
Previous experience achieving or maintaining Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
Experience developing teams and embedding a positive therapeutic culture.
