Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in the optical and healthcare sectors, providing valuable experience in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will support optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services, ensuring patient satisfaction and smooth clinic operations.

Duties

Assisting with patient appointments, including pre-screening and record management
Supporting optical staff in frame selection and fitting procedures
Preparing and maintaining optical equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance
Conducting basic eye tests under supervision, including visual acuity assessments
Managing stock levels of lenses, frames, and other optical supplies
Providing excellent customer service by answering patient queries and guiding them through procedures
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the optical practice to meet health and safety standards

Requirements

Previous laboratory experience or practical exposure to optical or healthcare environments is desirable
Knowledge of human anatomy, particularly related to the eye, is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technology within the practice
