This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-run residential care home, set within idyllic, peaceful grounds in Thornton-in-Craven that prides itself on doing things differently.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Senior Care Assistant. In this rewarding role, you will lead and support the Care Team and ensure our residents receive the highest standard of care.

Main Responsibilities

This Job Description indicates only the main duties and responsibilities of the post. It is not intended as an exhaustive list.

Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting residents with all aspects of daily living as required.
Assist residents with their care needs, including physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
Administer, record, and manage medication safely and in accordance with medication policies, MAR charts risk assessments, and current legislation, reporting any errors or concerns immediately.
Communicate residents' well-being and care needs to line managers, including thorough handovers at shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of residents' rooms.
Assist residents during mealtimes, being mindful of swallowing difficulties and dietry needs.

Required:

Ability to effectively demonstrate our core values: Compassionate, Person-Centred, Honest, Positive, Respectful & Dedicated.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and support a team.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
Team-oriented approach with a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to participate in vocational training and continued professional development.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and, where applicable, clearance against the POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults) list

Qualifications:

Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or currently working towards this qualification.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a care setting is desirable.
A sound working knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
