Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety standards, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff management, and fostering a positive working environment within our hospitality setting.

Duties

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all dishes served.
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency.
Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to foster a motivated team atmosphere.
Ensure excellent customer service by coordinating with front-of-house staff during service hours.
Conduct regular training sessions on food safety, cooking techniques, and service standards to enhance team skills.
Handle customer feedback professionally and implement improvements where necessary.

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across diverse cuisines.
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, with familiarity in hospitality settings involving serving customers directly or indirectly.
Experience in menu development and culinary innovation is advantageous.
