Job Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced Sheet Steel Laser Operator to join our growing manufacturing team based in Burnley, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering business supplying precision sheet metal components across a range of industries.
Working with 6kw Amada fibre laser, you will play a key role in production, maintaining high quality standard and meeting delivery targets, whilst working efficiently in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC 6kw Amada fibre laser cutting machine
- Load and unload various metals; mild steel, stainless, aluminium, brass sheets
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and production specifications
- Adjust machine parameters to achieve optimum cutting performance
- Inspect finished components for quality and accuracy
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic fault finding
- Work closely with sales team and folding division to meet deadlines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting machinery
- Experience working with sheet steel or metal fabrication processes
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Amada/similar laser systems would be advantageous
Hours
- Full-time
- Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
- Friday: 08:00 – 14:00
