Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker/Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a care home setting, ensuring their wellbeing, independence, and dignity are maintained. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and experience in supervising and developing care plans. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, working within a supportive and professional environment.

Duties

Deliver personalised care and support to residents, respecting their individual needs and preferences
Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Develop, review, and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with the care team
Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior management or healthcare professionals
Encourage social engagement and participation in activities to promote mental and physical wellbeing
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
Support residents with medication administration as per prescribed instructions
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

Proven experience in a care home or senior care environment with supervising responsibilities
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate team members
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents outside the care setting or attending appointments
Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory standards within adult social care
Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life
