Coleg Cambria are now looking to appoint a Library & Academic Skills Coordinator to join our team based at Deeside.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Coleg Cambria as part of the library and academic skills team. Based in a busy library environment, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver group and 1:1 support for a diverse range of learners and have a primary focus on enabling learners to succeed through academic skills development. Having a strong background and experience in planning and facilitating support in an educational context you will liaise closely with Progress Coach Coordinators, Progress Coaches and curriculum staff to promote, identify and develop intervention strategies that create positive outcomes. Through close cooperation with key HE departments you will develop and deliver a strategic approach to providing guidance on academic study skills to our HE cohorts to enhance their university experience and to support them in their success.
By sourcing, promoting and utilising digital learning content and education focussed technology you will provide up to date and relevant content across a wide range of curriculum areas. Having a financial awareness of budget monitoring and purchasing processes will play a part in your line management responsibilities. Fostering excellent relationships with staff and students will be essential to implement the objectives of the service. Proven experience of strong team leadership skills are essential for the role, as motivating and developing your team through strong line management will be key to providing students with an excellent college experience, delivering impact and successful outcomes.

Essential Requirements
Educated to Degree Level
Experience of managing, leading, developing and motivating a team
Proven experience of learner support in an educational context
Experience of delivering training and engaging support sessions
Knowledge of learning styles, strategies and differentiation to support individual learner progress
A good communicator who can build positive professional relationships with a range of stakeholders
Effective use of technologies to support learning including MS Office or Google and innovative use of other EdTech applications
Good level of literacy, digital literacy and numeracy skills
You will be an experienced practitioner with excellent personal skills and abilities including resilience and organisation
Your energy and enthusiasm will drive a team to deliver an excellent learner experience that will empower our students to achieve their potential as part of the wider service objectives.
Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
