We are looking to recruit a part time Care Navigator (Receptionist) to work over 4 days for 22 hours per week on a fixed term 12 month contract. The shift patterns are:
Monday - 1:15pm to 6:45pm
Wednesday - 7:45am to 1:15pm
Thursday - 1:15pm to 6:45pm
Friday - 1:15pm to 6:45pm
Applicant MUST be able to work these shifts.
Some flexibility will be required to cover for last minute sickness and holidays.
The successful candidate should be confident, professional, have excellent telephone and customer service skills with the ability to multi-task.

Job Responsibilities:
· Dealing with patients via telephone, face to face and online services, ensuring their request is dealt with appropriately
· Ensure that patients who need an urgent consultation are seen in line with practice protocol
· Monitoring the telephone call queue and ensuring that calls are prioritised over other less urgent tasks
· Monitoring online messages via our Accurx system and responding within the appropriate timeframe
· Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via telephone or online messaging services
· Signpost patients to the correct service or appointment type by using in-house guidance and resources
· Maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR and practice policies
· To action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection in line with practice protocol
· Ensure the waiting and reception areas are kept tidy and that noticeboards and leaflets are up to date
· Monitor the waiting area and raise any medical concerns immediately. Also keep patients up to date if clinics are delayed
· Handle samples in line with infection control procedures, also ensuring they are labelled and have the correct forms ready to be sent to the lab
· Undertake chaperone duties during clinical examinations as required
· Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-NHS) services, processing payments and issue receipts for same
· Maintain the safety of staff, patients and visitors and report any concerns via the inhouse portal
· Ensure effective communications, regularly updating the Team Leader of any issues
· Cover colleague’s holiday and sick leave as required
· Attend mandatory training events/meetings which are held once a month on a Wednesday afternoon. (Excludes August & December)
· Keep up-to date with relevant mandatory training via the relevant online training platforms
· Ensure Practice building is closed safely at night. including closing of window and shutters
· Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
CQC (Care Quality Commission)
· Under supervision of the Management team to assist staff and clinicians to ensure that the practice fully complies with the CQC regulations
· To ensure that all policies and procedures within areas of responsibilities are up to date and are amended as and when required

Desirable
· Previous experience as a GP surgery receptionist/Care Navigator would be a distinct advantage
· Experience in using SystmOne would also be a strong advantage, however full training will be given to the right candidate if required
· Experience in using Accurx
Qualifications
Essential
· Good Standard of Education GCSE Grade C in English and Maths

· Post is subject to satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
Desirable
· Driving licence / own transport (Public Transport is very limited in this area)
· Flexibility to work outside core office hours (I.E Cover Extended access on occasional Saturdays and assist with Flu clinics etc)
