Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for gardening and horticulture. This role involves assisting customers with their purchases, providing expert advice on our range of products, and ensuring the sales floor is well-organised and inviting. Fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base. The position offers an opportunity to develop organisational and merchandising skills within a vibrant retail environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
Provide expert advice on gardening, horticulture, and related products to enhance customer satisfaction
Maintain the organisation and visual presentation of merchandise on the sales floor
Support stock replenishment and inventory management to ensure product availability
Assist with merchandising displays to attract customer attention and promote sales
Handle transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
Answer customer enquiries both in person and via phone or email, demonstrating excellent communication skills
Keep the store clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential; a keen interest in gardening or horticulture is preferred
Multilingual abilities, particularly fluency in English and Spanish, are highly desirable
Strong organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain an attractive sales environment
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse customer base
Knowledge of merchandising principles to optimise product displays
Passion for gardening, horticulture, or related fields is a plus
Ability to work well within a team and independently as required

Pay: £12.21-£17.28 per hour
