Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Balloon and Gift Shop Assistant to join our vibrant retail team. You must have full professional experience in making balloons and gift wrapping etc. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting with product displays, and ensuring the shop maintains an inviting atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be organised, communicative, and passionate about creating memorable experiences for our customers. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail skills within a lively environment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting balloons, gifts, and party supplies
Handle transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system, including upselling products where appropriate
Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure the shop is tidy and well-stocked
Provide information about products and promotions to enhance customer experience
Manage stock levels, organise deliveries, and assist with inventory checks
Offer personalised recommendations based on customer needs and event themes
Handle phone enquiries professionally, providing accurate information and assistance
Support with organising special events or themed displays as required

Skills

Excellent communication skills in English
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Good basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock management
Friendly phone etiquette with the ability to upsell products naturally
Multilingual ability to serve a diverse customer base effectively
Merchandising experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Strong organisational skills to keep the shop neat and well-presented
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
