Gallery Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Southwold Gallery, Southwold, Suffolk
Pay: £12.75 per hour
Hours: 1–2 days per week, including occasional weekends

Southwold Gallery is one of Suffolk's leading independent art galleries, representing a wide range of talented artists and welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to join our small team on a part-time basis.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys meeting people, providing excellent customer service and working in a creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming visitors to the gallery
Assisting customers with enquiries and purchases
Processing sales through our computer system
Managing emails and general administration
Helping maintain the presentation of the gallery
Supporting exhibitions and events as required

What We're Looking For

A pleasant and professional manner
Strong people and communication skills
Confidence using computers, email and basic office software
Good attention to detail
Reliability and flexibility
Previous retail or customer-facing experience is desirable
An interest in art would be an advantage, although not essential
