Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, optimising supply chain operations, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication, and organisational skills to contribute to the efficiency of our logistics processes. The position is paid and suitable for candidates with relevant experience or those eager to develop their expertise in transport planning.

Duties

Develop and implement efficient transport schedules to meet delivery deadlines
Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth logistics operations
Monitor and optimise routes using advanced planning tools and software programmes
Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance
Analyse transportation data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Utilise Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare reports and communicate effectively
Provide excellent customer service by resolving any logistical issues promptly and professionally
support team members in managing daily transport activities
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in supply chain management

Experience

Proven experience in or logistics roles, preferably within supply chain or transportation sectors
Strong driving record and familiarity with vehicle routing and scheduling systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook; IT literacy is essential
Knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics operations, and IT systems used in transport planning
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Customer service orientation with a focus on resolving issues efficiently

This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their career within the logistics industry. Candidates should possess a combination of technical knowledge, organisational prowess, and excellent communication skills to succeed as a Transport Planner.
